The Sunbury Difference
Our excellent 25-year reputation is built on quality of construction and finish, on-time delivery and exceptional service. Drop into anyone of our dealers’ showrooms and see the Sunbury difference for yourself.
We are fourth- generation cabinet makers with roots dating back to the late 1800s.
Our great-grandfather, Reginald, started the Sunbury tradition building carriages for the aristocracy in London, England, under the name of Sunbury Carriage Works.
My grandfather Walter migrated to Canada in the early 1900s and became a homebuilder and mason.
In keeping with the family tradition, our mother, Betty, took over and transformed the business into a custom furniture business in Stouffville, in 1961 .
Twenty-five years ago, Jeff followed in his mother's footsteps by starting a custom furniture business in Millbrook, Ontario. Our reputation spread quickly, and in just four years, we outgrew our location and moved to larger premises in Peterborough, where we are today. Here, over the past 21 years we have expanded four times, and now offer custom kitchens, bathrooms and wall units.
Over 1000 happy customers
We blend state-of-the-art, computerized machining with old world, hands-on cabinet-making techniques to achieve the best-constructed and best-finished cabinets.
We use the highest quality melamines and plywoods for our boxes and cabinets.
Our products are joined by mortise-and-tenon construction with painstaking care. Our doors are hand-made from select woods and medium-density fibreboard (MDF) all hand-finished in our shop to the highest tolerances. All have three-inch frames. Our standard drawer box is solid maple and/or birch dovetail.
We have an extensive finishing department which not only has a full line of paint and stain finishes, but also offers glazings, rub-throughs, distressing, and much more. Should you prefer something more to your specific tastes, we proudly offer you your choice of custom finishes.
All of our hinges and slides are the latest generation of lifetime-guaranteed Blum products. Our hinges are clip-on and integrate soft close which can be easily adjusted. All slides are full extension, also with built-in soft close features.
To give you the best result possible, we offer a standard line of cabinets, but we will also custom-design cabinets to your exact specifications.
We guarantee all hinges and slides for as long as you own the cabinets. They can simply be returned to your dealer for a full replacement.
Cabinets have a five-year replacement-cost warranty against workmanship defects. Finishes have a two-year limited warranty against peeling and chipping. To maximize the lifespan of your cabinets, we recommend that humidity in your home be kept between 35 -50-per-cent.
